FORT MONROE, Va. — Cadets across U.S. Army Cadet Command may see their name in lights — the lights of a computer monitor, that is — as their Public Affairs Office begins using new online resources to tell the Army ROTC story.

The PAO is rolling out several new Internet tools to keep family members and friends apprised of the cadets’ progress. News and feature stories, photos, video, and audio clips will be featured on these sites.

We have an unparalleled opportunity to use relevant technologies to tell the stories of Cadets, cadre, and staff — and to reach out to their families and friends at the same time — to give them the recognition they deserve. Internet services abound today. At no other time in history has sharing our stories been so easy

This news and information site, currently built through the online publishing tool WordPress, will be accompanied by an Army ROTC presence on the sites SmugMug, YouTube, and Twitter, just to name a few. We’re studying the use of other sites too, all in the name of getting the word out about the hard work being done across our command to commission the best Army officers in the world.
